Pain Attunement
Pain Attunement changes Critical Damage Bonus according to Life state. It grants 30% more Critical Damage Bonus on Low Life, imposes 30% less on Full Life, and does neither between those states.Catalog version 0.5.4d

What Pain Attunement does
Current rulesPain Attunement applies 30% more Critical Damage Bonus while the character is on Low Life, which begins at 35% of maximum Life by default. It applies 30% less Critical Damage Bonus at Full Life. At a Life value above the Low Life threshold but below Full Life, neither line applies. The Keystone changes the damage bonus of critical hits, not Critical Hit Chance.
- Low Life grants 30% more Critical Damage Bonus
- At 35% of maximum Life or lower by default, the character's applicable Critical Damage Bonus is multiplied by 1.30. Threshold replacements and count-as effects can change when the Low Life condition is satisfied.
- Full Life applies 30% less
- At Full Life, Critical Damage Bonus is multiplied by 0.70. Full Life is a separate state from merely not being on Low Life.
- The middle state has neither modifier
- When current Life is above the current Low Life threshold and below Full Life, neither the More line nor the Less line is active. Pain Attunement therefore has a neutral middle state.
- Critical Damage Bonus is not Critical Hit Chance
- The Keystone changes the extra damage produced after a hit is already determined to be critical. It does not make a hit more likely to become a critical hit.
- More and Less are multipliers
- The 30% More and 30% Less values are not added to ordinary Increased Critical Damage Bonus. They multiply the applicable Critical Damage Bonus at their own stage.

3 casesThe Unique helmet grants Pain Attunement directly. Its Lose Life when you use a Skill modifier can move the character away from Full Life, but the Keystone still uses the actual current Life state.

4 rules- Pain Attunement does not increase Critical Hit Chance.
- Neither line applies between Low Life and Full Life.
- Thirty percent More Critical Damage Bonus is not the same as 30% more total hit damage.
- Equipping Crown of Thorns and allocating the node does not stack the Keystone twice.
