The Riverbank

Access and route

From Character selection: The Riverbank is the linear Act 1 tutorial and cannot be revisited after leaving it.

1. Wounded Man. Speak to the Wounded Man, then collect and equip the class-dependent starting weapon.
2. Skill Gem chest. Open the Large Chest farther along the riverbank for the class-dependent starting Skill Gem.
3. Besieged Encampment. Defeat The Bloated Miller to open the only exit into Clearfell Encampment.
4. Clearfell Encampment. Enter town, speak to Renly, and take the Reaching Clearfell reward.

Waypoint and checkpoints

Waypoint: No. There is no waypoint. Progress uses tutorial checkpoints before the town exit.

• The area introduces checkpoints, but the source does not record an exact count or landmark list.

Quest objectives

• Reaching Clearfell (Required): Find and kill The Bloated Miller, enter the encampment, and speak to Renly. Landmark: Besieged Encampment. Next: Take Renly's reward in Clearfell Encampment.

Bosses and NPC availability

• The Bloated Miller (Required boss) at Besieged Encampment. Blocks the town entrance and must be defeated to complete Reaching Clearfell.
• Wounded Man: Found near the character's starting point and starts Reaching Clearfell.

Notable items and exits

• Class-dependent starting weapon: Ground pickup after speaking to the Wounded Man. Tutorial weapon determined by the selected character class. Only available during the one-way tutorial area.
• Class-dependent starting Skill Gem: Large Chest. Introduces Skill Gem equipment. Only available during the one-way tutorial area.
• Level 1 Uncut Skill Gem: Renly's Reaching Clearfell reward. Quest reward after entering Clearfell Encampment. Quest reward.
• Exit to Clearfell Encampment: The only exit from The Riverbank; the area cannot be revisited afterward. Unlock: Defeat The Bloated Miller.
