Level gap penalty
Reduces experience gained from a monster when its level is too far from your character level. This is the rule calculated above.
Character progression mechanic

A level 80 character has a safe difference of 8, so monsters from level 72 through 88 are inside the full experience range. Normal monsters use the area level. Magic and Rare monsters are one level higher, and bosses are two levels higher.
