Complete a Delirium encounter on the Atlas to reveal The Withered Willow southwest of the Atlas starting point. Enter the hub and use its Decanter of Madness crafting bench for Instilling.
Review the encounter, Liquid Emotion drops, Atlas hub, and current progression.
Inspect the Delirium tree and its connected progression.
Search the complete recipe directory by Notable name or effect. Record all three Liquid Emotions in their displayed order. A recipe with the same ingredients in a different order can produce a different Notable. In game, hold Alt over a Notable to view its combination, or use View Notables in the Instilling interface to highlight recipes available from the emotions in the inventory.
Search all 875 current recipes and filter each of the three ordered ingredient slots.
Check whether the Notable is already allocated and how it relates to the build.
Obtain the exact regular Liquid Emotions listed by the recipe. Liquid Emotions are associated with Delirium content and can also be traded. Ancient Liquid Emotions are a separate jewel-crafting material and cannot be substituted.
Open one regular Liquid Emotion page and follow its category links to the other emotions.
Use the Decanter of Madness at The Withered Willow. Place the eligible item and all three emotions into their exact recipe positions. Read the resulting Notable in the preview before confirming because Instilling consumes the ingredients.
Read eligible items, enchantment limits, replacement behavior, and related crafts.
See the unique Amulet that can hold additional Instilled modifiers.
The Instilled Notable is allocated while the item is equipped. Check the character with the item equipped and avoid allocating the same Notable on the normal Passive Skill Tree because a second allocation does not grant the effect twice.
Check stacking, replacement, special item limits, and jewel crafting rules.
Review the character's normal passive allocation.
Instilling an item again replaces its existing Instilled enchantment. If an item can hold several Instilled enchantments, one is replaced at random.
An existing enchantment cannot be replaced on a corrupted, mirrored, or sanctified item.
Older guides describe Instilling Waystones. That system was removed in version 0.4.0 and is not part of the current process.
Ancient Liquid Emotions modify Rare Time-Lost Jewels. They do not work as ingredients for the three-emotion Instilling recipe.
