What Vaal Pact does
Current rulesThe current Vaal Pact is not instant leech. It grants 50% more amount of Life Leeched, makes Life Leech recover 67% less quickly, prevents Life recovery from anything except Leech, and keeps Life Leech effects active when unreserved Life fills. It changes Life Leech only; Mana and Energy Shield Leech are not improved or slowed by Vaal Pact.
- The amount is 50% more
- The total Life assigned to an eligible Life Leech effect is multiplied by 1.5. This is a More multiplier, not another value added to an Increased pool.
- Recovery is 67% less quickly
- The larger leech amount is delivered much more slowly. Amount and recovery speed are separate parts of Leech, so the extra total does not mean the Life arrives faster.
- Only Leech can recover Life
- Life regeneration, Life flasks, Recoup, recovery on kill, and other non-Leech recovery mechanisms cannot restore Life while Vaal Pact applies. Those mechanics are not deleted from the character, but they cannot recover Life.
- Life Leech persists at filled unreserved Life
- Life Leech effects are not removed when unreserved Life becomes filled. They can remain available instead of ending immediately at that point, subject to the current Leech rules.
- Other Leech resources are unchanged
- Mana Leech and Energy Shield Leech do not receive the 50% more amount or 67% less speed because every modified line specifically names Life or Life Leech.
