Leech

Leech recovers Life, Mana, Energy Shield, or Rage, usually from a percentage of damage dealt by a hit. A normal Leech instance provides its recovery over one second.

What Leech does

Current rules

Multiple Leech instances can exist, but only the instance with the highest recovery rate for each resource is active at a time. Ordinary Leech for that resource is removed when the unreserved resource fills.

One active instance
There is no general limit to stored Leech instances, but only the highest-rate instance for each resource provides recovery at a time.
Damage calculation cap
For Leech calculation, a hit above 40,000 total damage is treated as dealing 40,000. Its damage-type proportions are scaled down together to preserve their ratios.
Monster resistance
Monsters gain hidden Leech Resistance with level, reducing recovery from Leech against them.
Instant Leech
When a percentage of Leech is instant, that percentage is recovered immediately and the remainder is recovered over the remaining fraction of the normal duration.

Limits and exceptions

3 rules
  • Life-, Mana-, Energy Shield-, and Rage-Leech instances are tracked separately.
  • Modifiers specific to Life Leech do not automatically apply to Energy Shield Leech.
  • Ordinary Leech stops contributing after its resource is filled unless an effect explicitly allows overflow or persistence.
