Fracturing
A Fracturing Orb locks one random fractureable modifier on a Rare item with at least four modifiers. The locked modifier stays on the item through later crafting.

Adding more fractureable modifiers lowers the chance of locking one specific target. A Desecrated modifier counts toward the four-modifier requirement but is excluded from the fracture roll.

Application rules
Before spending the Orb- Use a Rare item.Normal, Magic, Unique, and already Fractured items are not valid targets.
- Reach four modifiers.The item must have at least four explicit modifiers before the Orb can be applied.
- Count fracture candidates.Each fractureable modifier is one equally likely outcome. Desecrated modifiers do not enter this roll.
- Accept the permanent result.The selected modifier cannot be removed, changed, or rerolled by ordinary item crafting.

A Divine Orb cannot reroll the numerical values of the Fractured modifier.
Desecration
A Desecrated modifier cannot be fractured, although it can satisfy part of the four-modifier requirement.
