What Lineage does
Current rulesFind Lineage Supports as global drops or from the encounter named by the specific gem. You cannot engrave them from an Uncut Support Gem. Normally, only one copy of each named Lineage Support can be socketed across all of your Skills. Solus Ipse allows two additional copies, but each copy must be in a different Skill. Compatibility and Support Category restrictions still apply.
- They are found, not engraved
- Lineage Supports cannot be engraved from an Uncut Support Gem. Some belong to the global drop pool, while drop-restricted Lineage Supports come from a named endgame encounter or boss.
- The normal limit is one per name
- Only one copy of each named Lineage Support can normally be socketed across the character. This is a character-wide restriction, so moving a second copy to another Skill does not bypass it.
- Solus Ipse raises the copy limit
- The current Solus Ipse modifier allows two additional copies of each Lineage Support Gem, with the copies socketed in different Skills. Together with the normal copy, this permits up to three copies of the same named Lineage Support.
- Support Category rules still apply
- A Lineage Support can share a Support Category with another Lineage or regular Support. One Skill cannot socket two Supports from the same category, even when the character-wide Lineage copy limit would otherwise allow them.
- Compatibility is checked per Skill
- The target Skill must satisfy the Lineage Support's own support conditions. For example, Ratha's Assault supports Crossbow Ammunition Skills, while Vorana's Siege requires a Skill that Hits and has an Area of Effect.
- Acquisition is gem-specific
- Do not treat every Lineage Support as a generic map drop. The gem page records whether it belongs to the global pool or has a restricted boss or encounter source.

5 rules- The copy limit is per named Lineage Support, not one Lineage Support total.
- Owning another copy does not raise the socket limit by itself.
- Solus Ipse requires the additional copies to be socketed in different Skills.
- A raised Lineage copy limit does not bypass Support Category or compatibility restrictions.
- Not every Lineage Support is a global drop. Use the acquisition information on the exact gem page.
