Reveal Weaknesses
Reveal Weaknesses highlights random sections of a Rare or Unique enemy's Life bar. The highlighted sections total 45% of maximum Life. While the enemy's current Life is inside one of those sections, it has an Open Weakness.Catalog version 0.5.4d
No direct 0.5 patch change is linked to this page. The displayed values are current for catalog version 0.5.4d.
What Reveal Weaknesses does
Current rulesThe highlights show when an Open Weakness will be active. They do not inherently lower resistances, increase damage taken, or apply a Curse or Mark. An effect such as Predatory Instinct, In for the Kill, or The Master's Reach must refer to an Open Weakness to gain a benefit from it.
- Highlighted sections total 45% of maximum Life
- All highlighted sections together cover 45% of the enemy's maximum Life, leaving 55% unhighlighted. The sections are placed randomly, so do not expect one continuous 45% band or fixed thresholds at the same Life percentages on every enemy.
- Current Life decides whether the weakness is open
- An Open Weakness is active only while the enemy's current Life lies inside a highlighted section. It closes when Life moves into an unhighlighted section and opens again if current Life later enters another highlighted section.
- The highlight has no inherent combat effect
- Reveal Weaknesses exposes a condition other stats can check. By itself, it does not deal damage, change resistances, alter critical chance, or make the target take more damage. The relevant passive or item states what happens while the weakness is open.
- Current grants reveal Rare and Unique enemies
- Predatory Instinct and The Master's Reach both state that they Reveal Weaknesses against Rare and Unique enemies. Normal and Magic enemies are not included in those current stat lines.
- Predatory Instinct adds the damage benefit
- The Amazon notable Predatory Instinct both reveals the sections and grants 50% more damage against an enemy while its weakness is open. Outside the highlighted sections, that conditional damage modifier is inactive.
- In for the Kill checks your Presence
- In for the Kill grants 20% increased Movement Speed and 40% increased Skill Speed while an enemy with an Open Weakness is in your Presence. It does not reveal weaknesses by itself, so it is normally paired with Predatory Instinct or another source.
- The Master's Reach uses the same open state
- The Master's Reach reveals weaknesses and makes damage taken from enemies with an Open Weakness recoup as Life. Hitting such an enemy also satisfies the item's Eat a Soul condition. These effects turn on and off with the enemy's Open Weakness state.
- Do not confuse it with other weaknesses
- Open Weakness is the Life-bar condition created by Reveal Weaknesses. Critical Weakness and Elemental Weakness are separate mechanics with their own effects and rules.
