Freythorn

Access and route

From Hunting Grounds: Freythorn is an optional Ritual branch with three outer Rituals and one final boss Ritual. Complete the Ritual Altar in Hunting Grounds to unlock Ominous Altars and reveal the route.

1. Three outer Rituals. Complete the three Rituals in the area to remove the veil around the final Ritual.
2. Final Ritual. Complete the Ritual at the heart of Freythorn to summon The King in the Mists.
3. The King in the Mists. Defeat the boss to cleanse the final altar.
4. Return to Finn. Return to Clearfell Encampment and speak to Finn for the Ominous Altars reward.

Quest objectives

• Ominous Altars (Optional): Cleanse all four Rituals and defeat The King in the Mists at the final altar. Landmark: Final Ritual at the heart of Freythorn. Next: Return to Finn in Clearfell Encampment for an Uncut Support Gem.

• The King in the Mists (Required boss) at Final Ritual. Completes the final altar and advances Ominous Altars.
• Aoife: The structured area and NPC records list Aoife in Freythorn. Relocation: The NPC record also lists Caer Tarth.

Notable items and exits

• Uncut Support Gem: Finn's Ominous Altars reward. Quest reward after cleansing the Rituals and defeating the boss. Quest reward.
• Exit to Hunting Grounds: The only documented area connection and return route.

Source differences

• Aoife listing: The structured Area:G1_12 and NPC records list Aoife in Freythorn, while the area article has no NPC section and Ominous Altars does not assign Aoife a quest role.
