Orb of Chance

Use it on a Normal item when you accept either a Unique result or the loss of the item.

Valid target

A Normal item whose base type has at least one eligible, drop-enabled Unique version.

Consumes and changes

Consumes one Orb of Chance. On failure the target is destroyed unless Omen of Chance is active.

Result

The target becomes an eligible Unique of its base type, or it is destroyed.

Probability

Unpublished. The success rate and relative Unique outcome weights are not published. Rarer Unique outcomes are less likely.

Risk

The normal use is destructive. Do not use a valuable or hard-to-replace base without accepting that loss.

Use or save

Use it when the base has a wanted eligible Unique and replacement bases are cheap. Save Omen of Chance for scarce bases.

How to get it

It is ordinary currency with a drop level of 12 and can also be formed from 10 Chance Shards.

In 0.3.0, success became more likely on Amulets, Rings, Belts, and Charms. Exact rates remain unpublished.
