Ascension and the Altar of Ascendancy

Complete an Ascension Trial, then use its Altar of Ascendancy to choose an Ascendancy or receive the trial tier's Ascendancy points.
Ascension and the Altar of Ascendancy

How it works

The Altar of Ascendancy is the final interaction after a successful Ascension Trial. On the first eligible completion it lets you choose an Ascendancy class. Eligible later tiers award two more Ascendancy Passive Skill Points, up to the current maximum of eight.

How initial Ascension works

The trial and altar are separate steps. Finishing the trial unlocks the altar interaction.

1. Obtain access

Use the appropriate trial access item or campaign unlock for the tier you intend to complete.

2. Finish the trial

Complete the required rooms and final encounter without failing the trial's loss condition.

3. Use the altar

Interact with the Altar of Ascendancy in the completed trial reward room.

4. Allocate points

Choose an Ascendancy on the first completion, then allocate the points in its Ascendancy tree.

Changing an existing Ascendancy

Changing Ascendancy has additional refund and trial requirements.

Same base class

A character can change only to another regular Ascendancy belonging to the same base class.

Refund first

The Altar permits the class change only after every allocated Ascendancy passive has been refunded.
