Banner

Banner Skills reserve 30 Spirit while active and build Glory when you Hit monsters with Attacks. At 200 Glory, use the Skill to place a Banner whose Aura affects you and nearby Allies inside its area for a limited duration.

What Banner does

Current rules

Activate War Banner, Defiance Banner, or Dread Banner in the Skills Panel, then Hit monsters with Attacks. Each Banner stores its own Glory and gains 100% of the monster's Power when its generation gate succeeds. At 200 Glory, use that Banner to place its 6 metre Aura. The normal limit is one placed Banner at a time.

Activation reserves Spirit
Each current Banner is a Persistent Buff Skill with a 30 Spirit reservation. It must be active before Attack Hits can build Glory for that Banner. Reaching maximum Glory makes the placement use available; the passive activation by itself does not create the Aura.
Each Banner tracks Glory separately
War Banner, Defiance Banner, and Dread Banner each require 200 Glory and generate 100% of the Hit monster's Power. Different Skills keep separate Glory totals, although the same qualifying action can generate Glory for more than one active Skill.
One monster can grant Glory only once every 0.5 seconds
A Banner Skill can generate Glory from a particular monster only once every 0.5 seconds. Extra Hits inside that gate do not grant another packet to that Banner, so Hit rate alone does not bypass the per-monster limit.
Unused Glory decays
If a Skill has not gained Glory for 15 seconds, it loses 2 Glory per second. This decay belongs to each Skill's own Glory total rather than one shared character pool.
Placed Banners can keep building the next use
Glory Skills normally cannot generate Glory while an instance of that Skill is active, but Banner Skills are the stated exception. A placed Banner therefore does not disable that Banner Skill's Glory generation.
The Aura is local to the placed Banner
All three current Banners have a 6 metre base Aura radius. You and nearby Allies receive the Banner's benefits only while inside its area. Leaving the area removes the Aura benefit, but since 0.3.0 the placed Banner itself remains until its duration ends.
The normal placed-Banner limit is one
By default, only one Banner can be placed at a time. Reinforced Rallying adds one to the maximum. The Tactician notable Whoever Pays Best instead removes the placed-Banner limit and makes Banners gain 5 Glory per second.
Expiration ends the placed Aura
A Banner lasts 6 seconds at gem level 1 and 9.8 seconds at gem level 20 before its placed Aura expires. Rallying Icon recovers 15% of that Banner's required Glory when it expires, while Bannerman lets Banner Buffs linger on you for 2 seconds after you leave the area.
Current patch behavior
Content Update 0.3.0 replaced the old scaling Banner effects with the current fixed Auras and stopped Banners being removed when the player leaves their Aura. Content Update 0.5.0 increased the base radius from 4.5 to 6 metres and removed the movement speed penalty during use.
