Allies

An Ally is another player, Minion, Totem, or other entity on your side that has its own stats. Your character is not their own Ally, so wording that affects only Allies does not affect you unless it separately says you.

What Allies does

Current rules

Read Ally effects in two stages. First identify the eligible target: Allies is broad, Minions or Companions is narrower, and you are separate. Then check the delivery condition, such as in your Presence, nearby, inside a Sigil, within a Font, or firing through Flame Wall. Being an Ally does not by itself satisfy the range, duration, ownership, or stacking conditions of the effect.

Who counts as an Ally?
Allies include other players, Minions, Totems, and other entities that fight on your side and have their own stats. The exact set can therefore be broader than only party members or only summoned Minions.
You are not your own Ally
An effect that says Allies does not apply to the character providing it. Wording such as you and Allies includes the character because it names you separately.
Party members are Allies
Other players in the party are Allies. An Aura or another Ally effect can affect them only while they also satisfy its range and target conditions.
Minions are Allies
Minions are summoned Allies. A modifier that affects Allies can affect eligible Minions, but a Minion-only modifier is narrower and does not also apply to party members or Totems merely because all of them can be Allies.
Totems are Allies but not Minions
Totems are allied constructs with their own defensive stats. They can receive eligible Ally effects, but they do not qualify for wording restricted to Minions.
Player stats do not automatically transfer to Minions
Modifiers to the player's offences or defences do not automatically affect Minions. The modifier must specify Minions, Allies, or another applicable relationship. Totem skills have their own separate player-stat rules.
Ally status and range are separate
In your Presence, nearby, inside it, and while standing in it are separate spatial conditions. An eligible Ally outside the stated area receives nothing. Presence has its own area rules, while Sigils, Fonts, Banners, ground effects, and other skills can use different radii.
Share is not the same as redirect
Lochtonial Caress shares Charges with Allies in your Presence without removing the character's own Charges. Conduit instead says that if you would gain a Charge, Allies in your Presence gain that Charge instead, so the character gives up that gain.
Eligibility does not decide stacking
Ally wording determines who may receive an effect, not whether multiple copies stack. Buffs of the same type normally use only the strongest applicable copy unless their own rules allow stacking.
Source and recipient can have different effects
An item or passive can impose a cost or penalty on its owner while benefiting Allies. Leer Cast reduces the wearer's damage while increasing Ally damage, and Lone Warrior increases Aura Magnitude while preventing the owner's Aura Buffs from affecting Allies.

Common Ally effects and recipient rules

Auras that include the owner

Discipline, Purity of Fire, Purity of Ice, Purity of Lightning, and Impurity explicitly affect you and Allies in your Presence. The owner is covered by you, while the other eligible entities are covered by Allies.

Banner Auras

War Banner, Defiance Banner, and Dread Banner explicitly grant their effects to you and nearby Allies around the placed Banner. The Banner is the Aura source, so eligible Allies must remain inside its area.

Totem Fonts

Font of Blood and Font of Mana make supported Totems create 4 metre Fonts. Allies inside the Font Leech Life or Mana from the supported Totem's Physical damage. The Totem creates the area, but the recipient still has to be an Ally inside it.
