Blood Magic
Blood Magic removes the character's Mana and converts Skill Mana Costs into Life Costs. It changes which resource pays for Skills, so Life recovery and cost management become part of sustaining every Mana-costing action.Catalog version 0.5.4d

What Blood Magic does
Current rulesBlood Magic sets Mana to zero and converts each Skill Mana Cost into a Life Cost. A Skill that would cost 40 Mana instead costs 40 Life before other applicable cost modifiers. Spirit reservation is not a Mana Cost, so Blood Magic does not turn Spirit reservation into Life reservation. The Keystone can be allocated on the passive tree or granted by Mask of the Sanguimancer, but receiving the same Keystone from both sources does not stack it twice.
- Mana is set to zero
- The character has no usable Mana pool while Blood Magic applies. Mana recovery, Mana regeneration, and Mana leech therefore have no current Mana to refill unless another effect changes the character's resource rules.
- Only Skill Mana Costs are converted
- The exact wording converts Skill Mana Costs to Life Costs. It does not say that every Mana loss, reservation, or unrelated resource payment becomes a Life Cost. Read the resource word and whether the effect is a cost before applying the Keystone.
- Cost modifiers still matter
- After conversion, applicable Skill Cost and Life Cost modifiers can change the amount paid. Mana recovery does not sustain the converted payment because the Skill is now removing Life.
- Spirit is a separate resource
- Persistent Skills normally reserve Spirit rather than Mana. Blood Magic does not remove Spirit and does not convert a Spirit reservation into a Life Cost because reservation and cost are different operations.
- Duplicate Keystone sources do not stack
- Mask of the Sanguimancer grants Blood Magic directly. Equipping it while the passive-tree Keystone is allocated does not create a second conversion or remove Mana twice.
Blood Magic interactions
3 casesThe Unique helmet grants Blood Magic without allocating the passive-tree node. The granted effect is the same Keystone and does not stack with the allocated version.

4 rules- Blood Magic does not provide Life recovery or Life Cost efficiency by itself.
- Spirit reservation is not a Skill Mana Cost and is not converted.
- The Keystone does not make a Skill usable when another requirement, reservation, cooldown, or resource cost is unmet.
- A Blood Magic item and the allocated Keystone do not stack.
