Heralds, Meta Skills, permanent Minions, Companions, and other persistent Skills normally reserve Spirit while active. Their base reservation and supported reservation are combined before matching efficiency modifiers are applied.

Reservation
Reservation commits part of a resource to an active effect. Most persistent Skills reserve Spirit, but some effects reserve Life or Mana. The reserved amount remains part of the resource's maximum and cannot be spent, recovered, or used as defence while it is reserved.Catalog version 0.5.4d

What Reservation does
Current rulesAdd the reservation of every active Skill and support in the current weapon set, then apply only modifiers whose scope matches those Skills. A 30 Spirit Skill and a support that adds 20 Spirit reserve 50 Spirit before Reservation Efficiency. If the resource is Life or Mana, filling the unreserved portion does not normally count as Full because reservation does not lower the actual maximum.
- Reservation is not a normal cost
- A cost is paid when a Skill is used. Reservation instead makes part of a resource unavailable while the reserving effect remains active. Cost Efficiency does not change reservation, and Reservation Efficiency does not change ordinary Skill costs.
- The maximum resource does not change
- Reserving 25 of 100 Life leaves 75 unreserved Life, but maximum Life remains 100. The reserved portion cannot be recovered, spent, or used to absorb damage while the reservation applies.
- Reserved Life or Mana is not Full
- A resource with any reserved portion cannot normally satisfy Full Life or Full Mana even when every unreserved point is filled. Wording that checks Full Unreserved is a separate condition, and count-as effects can explicitly replace the usual threshold.
- Skill reservation is calculated by scope
- Generic Reservation Efficiency of Skills can affect every qualifying reserving Skill. Narrow modifiers apply only to matching groups such as Herald, Minion, Companion, Meta, Remnant, or Buff Skills. Check the Skill tags before including a modifier.
- Supports can add reservation
- A support with a Spirit reservation is added to the reservation of the supported persistent Skill. The support does not create a separate active reservation, so modifiers affecting the combined Skill determine the final amount.
- Non-Skill reservation is different
- Reservation Efficiency of Skills does not reduce reservation created directly by another rule. Blood Price reserves enemy Life, Widow's Reign temporarily reserves Life that would have been lost to damage, and Infernalist passives reserve a percentage of the player's Life without being reserving Skills.
- Weapon sets can have different Spirit
- Spirit totals and active persistent Skills can differ by weapon set. Recheck available Spirit and active reservations after switching sets instead of assuming both sets have the same capacity.
- Reservation persists through death
- Persistent reservation effects remain configured after death. Losing a temporary source of Spirit or changing equipment can still make the current setup invalid or deactivate Skills that no longer fit.
Reservation cases to distinguish
6 casesPrism Guardian grants Spirit and gives increased Spirit Reservation Efficiency of Buff Skills per 100 maximum Life. The modifier applies only when the reserving Skill satisfies its Buff scope.

5 rules- Reservation does not reduce the maximum value of Life, Mana, or Spirit.
- Cost modifiers and Reservation Efficiency modify different calculations.
- A scoped efficiency modifier applies only when the Skill matches every stated scope.
- Skill Reservation Efficiency does not affect reservation created directly by items, passives, damage, or enemy effects.
- A filled unreserved Life or Mana pool is not normally Full.
