Fork
Fork replaces one Projectile with two continuing Projectiles when it reaches an eligible enemy collision.Catalog version 0.5.4d
No direct 0.5 patch change is linked to this page. The displayed values are current for catalog version 0.5.4d.
What Fork does
Current rulesFork is checked after Split and Pierce but before Chain. At the first collision that does not Split or Pierce, the Projectile Forks into two copies fired at fixed angles. Those copies continue the original Projectile, share its maximum travel distance, and cannot hit a target already hit by that Projectile group unless a skill says otherwise.
- Fork normally creates two copies
- At an eligible enemy collision, the original Projectile ends and two continuing Projectiles leave the target at fixed angles.
- Split and Pierce have priority
- A Projectile does not Fork at a collision where it Splits or Pierces. It can Fork at a later enemy after those higher-priority behaviors are no longer available.
- Chain comes after Fork
- Forked Projectiles can use remaining Chain behavior on later targets. Fork and Chain do not occur at the same collision.
- Forked copies are continuations
- The copies share the original Projectile's maximum travel distance and cannot hit a target already hit by another continuation from the same group unless the skill explicitly overrides that rule.
- Additional Projectile when Forking changes the copy count
- A modifier granting an additional Projectile when Forking adds another continuation to that Fork event. It does not fire an unrelated new cast or attack.
- After Forking modifiers begin after the event
- Fork Support's 30% less Damage applies to the continuing Projectiles after they Fork. The original hit that caused the Fork occurs before that condition is true.
How this behavior applies
5 casesEach eligible Projectile randomly gains Fork, one additional Chain, or one additional Pierce. The chosen behavior still follows normal priority.

7 rules- Fork is not Split. Split selects targets within 6 metres and has higher priority.
- A Projectile does not Fork at a collision where it successfully Pierces.
- A Projectile does not Fork and Chain from the same enemy collision.
- Forked copies do not receive a fresh maximum travel distance.
- Forked copies normally cannot hit a target already hit by the same Projectile group.
- Grenades cannot Fork.
- Cannot Fork overrides generic Fork sources for the named Projectile component.
