Projectiles Split toward two additional targets. This grants the behavior broadly to Projectiles fired while using the bow.

Split
The first time an eligible Projectile or beam hits a target, Split creates continuations aimed at different targets within 6 metres.Catalog version 0.5.4d
No direct 0.5 patch change is linked to this page. The displayed values are current for catalog version 0.5.4d.
What Split does
Current rulesSplit is the first projectile behavior checked. On the first eligible collision, the Projectile or beam splits toward its stated number of different targets within 6 metres. If there are too few targets, unused continuations fire in random directions. Each continuation shares the original travel distance and normally cannot hit a target already hit by that Projectile group.
- Split occurs only on the first eligible collision
- A Projectile or beam that can Split uses the behavior the first time it collides with a target. Its Split continuations do not repeatedly use that same generic Split event.
- Split has the highest collision priority
- Split is checked before Pierce, Fork, and Chain. A collision resolved as Split does not also use one of those later behaviors.
- Targets are searched within 6 metres
- Split continuations aim at different valid targets within 6 metres when possible. The official 0.2.0e patch corrected the keyword display from 4 metres to the actual 6 metres.
- Missing targets become random directions
- When there are fewer valid targets than the Split count, the remaining continuations are aimed in random directions.
- Split copies are continuations
- They share the original Projectile's maximum travel distance and normally cannot hit a target already hit by another Projectile in the same group.
- Later behaviors can still occur
- After Split, each continuation can use remaining Pierce, Fork, or Chain behavior at later collisions in that priority order.
How this behavior applies
5 casesIts Physical and Chaos Projectiles Split toward two targets. Modifiers to Projectile count instead change how many targets those Projectiles Split toward.
Related: Coiling Bolts, Chain, CurseSplinter Arrows are one possible arrow property and Split toward six targets. The quiver chooses among several arrow properties rather than giving every arrow the same behavior.
Related: Cadiro's GambitGlacial Lance explicitly cannot Split even though it is a Projectile that Pierces all targets. Cannot Split overrides generic Split sources.
Related: Glacial Lance, PierceProjectiles created by Split do not gain Elemental Surge benefits. The benefit belongs to the original Projectile before it Splits.

6 rules- Split is not Fork. Split selects different targets within 6 metres and happens before every other collision behavior.
- Split does not create a fresh maximum travel distance for each continuation.
- Split continuations normally cannot hit a target already hit by the same Projectile group.
- If no valid target is available, a continuation can travel in a random direction and hit nothing.
- Cannot Split overrides a generic source of Split.
- Projectiles or beams must explicitly gain Split. Additional Projectiles alone do not grant Split.
