Light Radius
Light Radius controls how far your character illuminates dark areas and how far terrain and points of interest are revealed on the map. It is an exploration and visibility stat, not a direct damage or item-drop multiplier.Catalog version 0.5.4d

What Light Radius does
Current rulesMore Light Radius expands the illuminated area around your character and reveals map terrain and important markers from farther away. Reduced Light Radius contracts both. The current documented cap is 150% increased Light Radius. Brightness settings do not change the stat, and Blind lowers it to its minimum value.
- It affects the world and map
- Light Radius changes the distance illuminated around the character in dark areas. It also changes how far terrain is uncovered through fog of war and how far away doors, points of interest, and other notable markers appear on the map.
- Brightness is separate
- Changing the graphics brightness setting changes how the image is displayed, but it does not change the Light Radius stat or the distance at which map information is revealed.
- Increases are capped
- Modifiers to increased Light Radius are capped at 150% increased Light Radius. Additional increases beyond that cap do not expand the radius further.
- Reduced Light Radius contracts it
- Reduced Light Radius works against increases to the same stat. Current items can provide fixed reduced values, while some effects can scale the reduction from another resource.
- Blind forces the minimum
- Blind lowers the affected character's Light Radius to its minimum value. Cannot be Blinded prevents that Blind effect, but does not itself grant extra Light Radius unless the same source says so.
- It is not Area of Effect or Presence
- Light Radius does not enlarge Skill Area of Effect or Presence. These are separate stats and can appear together on the same passive or item with different values.
- Hybrid modifiers grant separate stats
- Many ordinary item modifiers pair Light Radius with Accuracy Rating or Mana Regeneration Rate. The Accuracy or regeneration comes from the other line of the hybrid modifier, not from Light Radius itself.
Where Light Radius matters
7 casesBlind lowers Light Radius to its minimum. Chakra of Sight combines 20% increased Light Radius with Cannot be Blinded and a chance to Blind enemies, so each line remains a separate benefit.
