Strength
Strength is a primary Attribute used for equipment and gem requirements, especially Armour and melee-aligned equipment. Each point of Strength inherently grants 2 maximum Life.Catalog version 0.5.4d
No direct 0.5 patch change is linked to this page. The displayed values are current for catalog version 0.5.4d.
What Strength does
Current rulesUse Strength first to satisfy exact equipment and gem requirements, then count its inherent Life bonus. Strength does not inherently grant damage, Armour, or any other benefit unless another item, passive, or skill explicitly scales from it.
- Inherent Life
- Each point of Strength grants 2 maximum Life as its inherent Attribute bonus.
- Requirements
- Strength is commonly required by Armour equipment, melee-aligned weapons, Sceptres, and their associated skills. The exact displayed requirement is the value that must be met.
- No inherent damage
- Strength does not inherently increase Attack, Melee, Physical, or Spell damage. Damage scaling occurs only when another rule explicitly refers to Strength.
- Support capacity
- Every 5 Strength permits one additional red Strength Support Gem across the character's equipped skills, subject to sockets and Support Category restrictions.
- Percentage modifiers
- Increased Strength scales the applicable total Strength after flat additions according to normal stat calculation. It does not separately multiply every Strength-derived stat unless that effect says so.
- Replacement effects
- Some effects remove Strength's inherent bonus and replace it with another explicitly stated benefit. The replacement wording controls what the Attribute provides in that setup.
What Strength affects
5 casesAllows equipment with a displayed Strength requirement to be equipped while the requirement remains met.
Related: AttributesAllows Skill Gems and other gems with a Strength requirement to remain usable at their current level.
Related: SupportEvery 5 Strength allows one additional red Support Gem across equipped skills.
Related: SupportItems, passives, or skills can grant damage, defences, or other stats per Strength only when their own text says so.
Limits and exceptions
4 rules- Strength does not inherently grant damage or Armour.
- Dropping below an equipment or gem requirement can disable the affected item or skill even if it was usable before the Attribute changed.
- Support capacity is character-wide and does not add sockets to a skill.
- Effects that replace the inherent Strength bonus must be read separately from ordinary increased Strength.
