Energy Shield Recharge
Energy Shield Recharge is a recovery process that normally starts after a four-second delay and restores 12.5% of maximum Energy Shield per second. Losing Energy Shield or Life ordinarily interrupts it and restarts the delay. Recharge is Recovery, not Regeneration.Catalog version 0.5.4d

What Energy Shield Recharge does
Current rulesStart with a four-second base delay after the last ordinary interruption. Once Recharge begins, it restores 12.5% of maximum Energy Shield each second before Recharge Rate modifiers. A character with 2,000 maximum Energy Shield therefore recovers 250 Energy Shield per second at the base rate. Faster start changes the delay, Recharge Rate changes the recovery after the delay, and neither stat replaces the other.
- The base delay is four seconds
- Energy Shield Recharge normally begins after four seconds without an interruption. Losing Energy Shield or Life restarts that delay under the ordinary rule.
- The base rate is 12.5% per second
- Once Recharge begins, it recovers 12.5% of maximum Energy Shield per second before Recharge Rate modifiers. At the base rate, a completely empty Energy Shield pool takes eight seconds of uninterrupted Recharge to fill.
- Recharge is not Regeneration
- Recharge and Regeneration are separate Recovery types. Increased Energy Shield Recharge Rate does not improve Energy Shield Regeneration, and increased Regeneration Rate does not improve Recharge unless an effect explicitly transfers that modifier.
- Faster start divides the delay
- Recharge delay = 4 / (1 + total faster start / 100). With 100% faster start, the delay is two seconds, not zero. Slower start increases the delay through the corresponding multiplier.
- Recharge Rate does not shorten the delay
- Recharge Rate changes how much Energy Shield is recovered per second after Recharge starts. It does not make Recharge begin sooner. Faster start changes the delay without increasing the recovery per second.
- Some effects force Recharge to start
- Bitterbloom starts Recharge when a Mana Flask is used, Deathrattle can start it on kill, Nascent Hope starts it on use, and Jiquani's Thesis can start it after enough Mana is spent. These triggers bypass waiting for the ordinary delay.
- An effect can prevent interruption
- Prayers for Rain makes Recharge resist interruption by damage if that Recharge began Recently. The protection is conditional and does not make every Recharge permanently uninterruptible.
- Life can use Recharge
- Tetzlapokal's Desire makes Life Recharge. Current Recharge delay and rate modifiers that apply to Energy Shield Recharge also govern that Life Recharge unless another effect states a different rule.
Recharge starts, delay changes, and special cases
7 casesLuminous Pace grants 100% faster start, reducing the ordinary four-second delay to two seconds. Its reduced Recharge Rate is a separate penalty after Recharge begins.

5 rules- Recharge is Recovery but is not Regeneration.
- Recharge Rate does not change the delay before Recharge begins.
- Faster start does not increase the amount recovered per second.
- A forced start does not imply that the resulting Recharge cannot be interrupted.
- Conditional non-interruption applies only while its stated condition is satisfied.
