Energy Shield Recharge Rate
Energy Shield Recharge Rate changes how quickly Recharge restores Energy Shield after it has begun. The base recovery is 12.5% of maximum Energy Shield per second. What Energy Shield Recharge Rate does
Current rulesCalculate base recovery as maximum Energy Shield multiplied by 12.5%, then multiply by 1 plus the net increased and reduced Recharge Rate. With 2,000 maximum Energy Shield and 50% increased Recharge Rate, Recharge restores 2,000 x 0.125 x 1.50 = 375 Energy Shield per second. The ordinary four-second Recharge delay is unchanged unless a separate faster or slower start modifier applies.
- Begin with 12.5% of maximum
- The unmodified Recharge Rate is 12.5% of maximum Energy Shield per second. Maximum Energy Shield changes the absolute points recovered, while Recharge Rate changes the percentage recovered each second.
- Increased and reduced Rate share a pool
- Add all applicable increased Recharge Rate values and subtract all applicable reduced values. Multiply the base 12.5% by 1 plus that net percentage.
- Fifty percent increased means 18.75%
- At 50% increased Recharge Rate, the recovery is 12.5% x 1.5 = 18.75% of maximum Energy Shield per second. A 2,000-point pool therefore recovers 375 points per second.
- One hundred percent increased means 25%
- At 100% increased Recharge Rate, the recovery is 12.5% x 2 = 25% of maximum per second. An empty pool would fill in four seconds of uninterrupted Recharge.
- Reduced Rate lowers recovery after the delay
- At 20% reduced Recharge Rate and no increases, the recovery is 12.5% x 0.8 = 10% of maximum per second. The Recharge still starts after the same delay unless a separate delay modifier applies.
- More and less Rate are separate
- A more or less Recharge Rate modifier multiplies the result after the increased and reduced pool. Do not add a more modifier into the increased pool.
- Other stats can be transferred
- Waveshaper makes increases and reductions to Mana Regeneration Rate also apply to Energy Shield Recharge Rate. Jiquani's Thesis can do the same with Movement Speed when applied to Boots. The source stat is included only because the item explicitly transfers it.
- Recharge Rate and faster start solve different problems
- Recharge Rate shortens the recovery time after Recharge begins. Faster start shortens the waiting time before it begins. A build can have a short delay and slow recovery, or a long delay and fast recovery.
