Mechanic

Recently

Recently means during the previous four seconds. It creates a rolling condition based on a named event such as being Hit, dealing a Critical Hit, spending Mana, consuming a Charge, reloading, Blocking, or Dodge Rolling. The event, subject, and verb must all match the modifier.

What Recently does

Current rules

Read the wording as a four-second history check. If you have been Hit Recently is true from the moment an enemy Hit affects you until four seconds after the latest qualifying Hit. If you have not been Hit Recently is the opposite. A new qualifying event restarts its own four-second window, while wording such as for each event Recently counts every matching event still inside that rolling window.

The window is four seconds
Recently refers to the previous four seconds. A modifier remains eligible while its named event occurred within that rolling period.
A repeated event refreshes the condition
When the same qualifying event occurs again, the four-second condition continues from the newest event. There is no gap between the old and refreshed windows.
Positive and negative checks are opposites
If you have been Hit Recently is active inside the window. If you have not been Hit Recently is active only when no qualifying Hit occurred in the previous four seconds. The same distinction applies to Dodge Rolled, Critically Hit, Blocked, or other named events.
The subject owns the event
If you have Hit checks the player, if your Minion has Killed checks that Minion, and enemies you have Hit checks the target history created by the player. Another party member performing the event does not satisfy your condition unless the wording includes them.
The exact verb matters
Hit, Critically Hit, Blocked, Parried, Stunned, consumed a Charge, gained Rage, spent Mana, reloaded, and Dodge Rolled are different events. One does not imply another unless the same action actually satisfies both definitions.
For each event counts a rolling total
Wording such as for each Critical Hit dealt Recently or for each time Hit Recently counts the matching events whose individual timestamps remain in the four-second window. Each event falls out of the total when it becomes older than four seconds.
Recently is not the duration of a granted buff
The four-second history check determines whether a condition is true. If the effect then grants a separately named Buff for a stated duration, that Buff follows its own duration and expiration rules.
Explicit time wording overrides the keyword
A modifier that says in the past 8 seconds, 10 seconds, or another duration uses that stated window. Do not replace an explicit duration with the four-second Recently definition.

  • The event's subject and exact verb must match the modifier.
  • Not Recently is the opposite of the matching positive history check.
  • Repeated events refresh or add to the rolling history rather than creating a permanent state.
  • Recently does not replace a separately stated Buff or effect duration.
