Perfect Timing

Perfect Timing is a short release window inside certain Channelling skills. Hold the skill input, watch for the red shine around the character, and release during that cue to activate the skill's Perfect Timing result.

What Perfect Timing does

Current rules

Perfect Strike, Snipe, and Gathering Storm are the three current active skills with the Perfect Timing type. Releasing before or after the window fails the Perfect Timing check, so the skill does not gain its perfect-only result or on-success Support effects. The game does not publish one universal duration for every skill. Use the cue for the selected skill and treat longer or shorter Perfect Timing modifiers as changes to that skill's own window.

Hold the input, then release during the red cue
Perfect Timing belongs to release-oriented Channelling skills. Continue holding the skill until a red shine appears around the character, then release the same skill input while that cue is active.
Only three current skills expose the Perfect Timing type
The current compatibility records list Perfect Strike, Snipe, and Gathering Storm. Other Channelling skills do not become Perfect Timing skills merely because they can be held.
Each skill owns its success result
Perfect Timing is the release check, not a universal damage bonus. Perfect Strike creates its intense Fire wave, Snipe creates its impact explosion and can Consume Freeze, and Gathering Storm performs its Lightning-assisted dash and shockwaves.
There is no published universal base window
Current keyword and skill records describe the timing window but do not publish one duration that applies to all three skills. A duration measured for one skill must not be copied to another. Gathering Storm has also received skill-specific window changes.
Early and late releases both miss the perfect-only effects
Releasing outside the highlighted window does not satisfy Perfect Timing. The skill follows its non-perfect release behavior, while effects that explicitly require a Perfect Timing release do not occur.
Longer and shorter modifiers change the window, not the payoff by themselves
Assailum, Opportunity, skill quality, Window of Opportunity, and Tasalio's Rhythm modify how forgiving the release window is. A longer window does not independently add damage. A shorter window does not remove the skill's normal Perfect Timing payoff.
Window of Opportunity rewards only successful supported releases
Both tiers give the supported skill 35% more Damage when released with Perfect Timing and make its window 35% shorter. Window of Opportunity II also grants Deflection Rating equal to 15% of Evasion Rating for 8 seconds after a successful release.
Perfection rewards consistency across repeated attempts
A successful release with the supported skill grants one Perfection stack. Perfection lasts 10 seconds, stacks up to four times, and grants 5% more Damage per stack to all of your damage. Failing any Perfect Timing attempt removes all stacks, even when the failed skill is not supported by Perfection.
Tasalio's Rhythm becomes stronger and harder to maintain
The support starts by giving supported skills a 100% longer Perfect Timing window. Each successful supported release grants a stack, up to five. Each stack gives the supported skill 10% more Damage and a 30% shorter window. Failing any Perfect Timing attempt removes all Rhythm stacks, including a failure with another skill.
Perfected Endurance also requires a hit
Perfected Endurance grants an Endurance Charge when the supported skill hits an enemy with Perfect Timing. A correctly timed release that does not hit an enemy does not satisfy the support's hit condition.

Current Perfect Timing skills, supports, items, and changes

13 cases
01
Perfect Strike

A Perfect Timing release creates the intense Fire wave, converts more Physical damage to Fire, and gains 3.5 metres of Melee Strike Range for the Perfect Strike component.

02
Snipe

A Perfect Timing release makes the arrow explode on impact and Consume Freeze on a direct hit. Consuming Freeze enhances the resulting Icy Blast. At 20% quality, Snipe also has a 20% longer Perfect Timing window.

03
Gathering Storm

A Perfect Timing release performs a Lightning-assisted dash and creates shockwaves from enemies passed through. Hitting a Tempest Bell with the perfectly timed dash destroys it for a larger Tempest Shockwave and Shocked Ground. At 20% quality, the skill has a 20% longer window.

04
Window of Opportunity I

Supported skills have a 35% shorter Perfect Timing window and deal 35% more Damage when released with Perfect Timing.

05
Window of Opportunity II

Adds the same 35% shorter window and 35% more Damage, then grants Deflection Rating equal to 15% of Evasion Rating for 8 seconds on a successful release.

06
Perfection

Successful supported releases grant a 10-second stack worth 5% more Damage, up to four stacks. Any failed Perfect Timing attempt removes every stack.

08
