What Channelling does
Current rulesFirst identify whether the skill releases after charging or acts continuously. Then check cost per second, stage or Perfect Timing rules, maximum channel duration, movement behavior, and the exact component produced on release.
- One continued use
- Holding a Channelling skill continues a single use rather than performing a sequence of separate uses at normal attack or cast intervals.
- Two common behaviors
- Some Channelling skills charge and act when released. Others continuously attack or produce effects while the input remains held.
- Perfect Timing
- Release-oriented Channelling skills can have a Perfect Timing window, shown by a red shine, that grants the skill's stated benefit when released during that window.
- Cannot be Triggered
- Channelled skills cannot be Triggered. A Triggered skill occurs without an attack or cast time and cannot maintain the held input required by a channel.
- Cannot Repeat
- Channelling skills cannot Repeat. Continuing a channel is not the same as repeating a completed release.
- Costs are skill-specific
- A channel can pay Mana, Life, Rage, or another stated cost over time. When speed modifiers also affect cost, the skill describes that explicitly.
Channelling behavior to check
5 casesThe skill repeatedly attacks or applies effects while held, using its own interval, attack speed, or cost rules.
Related: SustainedReleasing within the skill's highlighted timing window grants the benefit written on that skill or Support.
Related: Perfect TimingPays the displayed cost while Channelling. Speed can change cost only where the skill explicitly says it does.
Movement, another action, resource loss, maximum duration, or another skill-specific condition can end the channel before its intended release.
Limits and exceptions
4 rules- Channelling is one continued use, not a stream of separate skill uses.
- Not every Channelling skill has Perfect Timing. The individual skill must define that window.
- Channelled skills cannot be Triggered or Repeated.
- Longer Channelling does not always mean more damage. Each skill defines its cap, stages, release effect, and cost.
