What Pin does

Current rules

Deal damage that is Pinning until the target reaches its Pin threshold. A Pinned target cannot move, be moved, or Evade for 3 seconds, is Light Stunned when Pin begins, and counts as Immobilised. Pin alone does not normally prevent every action.

Pin requires a Pinning source
Only damage made Pinning by a skill, support, item, or passive contributes to Pin buildup. Ordinary damage does not build Pin by default.
Buildup must reach the threshold
Pinning damage builds toward the target's Pin threshold. Passing that threshold applies Pin for 3 seconds.
Pinned targets cannot move or be moved
During Pin, the target cannot change location and cannot be moved by effects such as Knockback.
Pinned targets cannot Evade
Hits cannot be Evaded by a Pinned target. This was added in Content Update 0.2.0.
Pin begins with a Light Stun
Applying Pin also Light Stuns the target at that moment. The Light Stun is not the same as preventing actions for the full Pin duration.
Pin counts as Immobilised
Effects that check whether an enemy is Immobilised work while that enemy is Pinned.

At the threshold

The target becomes Pinned for 3 seconds and is Light Stunned when Pin begins.

03
While Pinned

The target cannot move, be moved, or Evade and counts as Immobilised.

04
Tactician exception

Right Where We Want Them makes Pinned enemies unable to perform actions. That is an added effect, not Pin's normal baseline.

Limits and exceptions

4 rules
  • Pin is not a Slow and is not improved by Slow Magnitude.
  • Pin does not normally stop every action. It prevents movement, being moved, and Evasion.
  • Pinning damage and Stun buildup are separate unless a support or modifier explicitly converts or replaces one with the other.
  • A target can be Immobilised by effects other than Pin.
