Onslaught
Onslaught is a Buff that grants 20% increased Skill Speed and 10% increased movement speed. A temporary source normally grants it for four seconds unless that source states another duration or ties it to an ongoing effect.Catalog version 0.5.4d
No direct 0.5 patch change is linked to this page. The displayed values are current for catalog version 0.5.4d.
What Onslaught does
Current rulesSkill Speed shortens the use time of applicable Skills. Its 20% increase combines additively with applicable increases and reductions to Attack Speed, Cast Speed, Warcry Speed, and similar action-specific speed stats. Onslaught is therefore not a separate 20% More Skill Speed multiplier.
- Onslaught grants two speed increases
- While you have Onslaught, you gain 20% increased Skill Speed and 10% increased movement speed. The Buff does not directly grant damage, cooldown recovery, action speed, or projectile speed.
- Skill Speed applies to skill use
- Skill Speed affects how quickly Skills are used. Its increase is combined with the matching Attack Speed, Cast Speed, Warcry Speed, or similar increase for the Skill being used. It does not make every timed system in the game expire or recover 20% faster.
- The speed bonuses are Increased, not More
- Onslaught's Skill Speed and movement speed enter their applicable increased and reduced pools. If an Attack already has 80% increased Attack Speed, Onslaught raises that applicable pool to 100% increased before separate More or Less speed multipliers are applied.
- Temporary Onslaught normally lasts four seconds
- When a gain effect uses the default Onslaught duration, it lasts four seconds. A source that writes an exact duration uses that duration instead, and a source tied to another effect follows the stated effect window.
- Continuous sources do not use a four-second timer
- Thrillsteel simply grants Onslaught while it is equipped. The Fall of the Axe grants Onslaught during the Charm effect. These sources maintain the named Buff only while their own equipment or effect condition remains true.
- Multiple sources grant the same named Buff
- Onslaught sources are alternative ways to obtain Onslaught, not separate 20% Skill Speed and 10% movement speed packages to add together. Compare their trigger, owner, and uptime rather than counting each source as another copy of the Buff.
- The recipient named by the source gets the Buff
- A modifier that grants Onslaught to you affects your character. A modifier that grants it to Companions or Minions affects those allies instead. Presence wording can limit which allies qualify without transferring their Onslaught to you.
Ways to gain Onslaught
6 casesYou gain Onslaught for four seconds on Kill. The ring needs you to receive kill credit, so it is reliable while clearing but does not create uptime against a lone boss without another enemy to kill.
Related: Death RushThe Charm is used when you are affected by a Slow and grants Onslaught during its three-second effect. Its Onslaught duration follows the Charm effect rather than the default four seconds.
Related: The Fall of the AxeOn a Martial Weapon, the Essence guarantees a 20% to 25% chance to gain Onslaught on Killing Hits with that Weapon. Both the killing Hit and the weapon restriction must match.

6 rules- Onslaught does not grant a separate damage multiplier.
- Increased Skill Speed is not the same as increased Action Speed or Cooldown Recovery Rate.
- On-kill Onslaught cannot trigger from a Hit that does not receive kill credit.
- A weapon-specific killing-hit modifier does not trigger from another weapon or an unrelated damage source.
- A Companion or Minion source does not grant Onslaught to the player unless the modifier also says it affects the player.
- Continuous Onslaught ends when its equipment, Charm, Skill, form, or other stated condition stops applying.
