Mechanic

Minion

Minions are summoned Allies with their own offensive and defensive stats. Player modifiers do not apply to them unless the modifier explicitly affects Minions or Allies, and the player does not count as their own Ally.

What Minion does

Current rules

First identify whether the Minion is Reviving, a Companion, temporary, invulnerable, or Command-only. Then check reservation or upfront cost, limit, duration, revival behavior, and which stats explicitly name Minions or Allies.

Separate stats
Minions do not inherit ordinary player offence or defence modifiers. A stat must explicitly affect Minions, Allies, the Minion skill, or an applicable shared mechanic to modify them.
Reviving Minions
Persistent Reviving Minions reserve Spirit, heal after avoiding damage, and automatically revive after a delay. Another Reviving Minion death changes the shared revival timer under the current revival rules.
Temporary Minions
Temporary Minions normally pay an upfront cost, do not revive after death, and remain until their duration ends, they die, or another explicit limit removes or replaces them.
Companions
Companions are a stronger Reviving Minion category. The default limit is one Companion of any type unless another rule explicitly changes that limit.
Commands
A Command skill directs a Minion to use its named ability. Command use, cooldown, skill speed, and Minion limits are separate from the Minion's ordinary attacks and passive behavior.
Totems are separate
Totems are allied constructs, not Minions. They use skills for the player and use player offensive stats while keeping their own defensive stats.

Related: Duration
04
Invulnerable or Command-only Minion

Limits and exceptions

4 rules
  • Player Attack Damage, Spell Damage, defences, and other ordinary player stats do not automatically transfer to Minions.
  • Ally wording can include Minions, other players, and other allied entities, but the player is not their own Ally.
  • Persistent, Reviving, Companion, and temporary are not interchangeable labels. They determine different reservation, limit, duration, and death behavior.
  • Totems are not Minions, and Minions are not Remote Skills. Apply the exact entity predicate named by each modifier.
