What Warcry does
Current rulesUse a Warcry close enough to count the enemies you care about, then spend its empowered attacks before their count or timer expires. Power determines how much benefit many Warcries grant. A boss always contributes 20 Power, while packs contribute the combined Power of every enemy inside the Warcry area.
- Monster Power
- An average Normal monster has about 1 Power. Magic rarity multiplies base Power by 2, Rare rarity by 5, and a Unique monster always counts as 20 Power. Weak and strong monster types can have lower or higher base Power.
- Count enemies in the area
- A Warcry counts only enemies inside its area when the shout takes effect. Increased Area of Effect can include more enemies, while increased total Power counted scales the counted total after enemies are found.
- Empowered has no default bonus
- Empowered is a state, not an automatic damage multiplier. The Warcry defines what its empowered attacks gain, and separate modifiers can improve Empowered Attacks or add another attack to the empowerment count.
- Use time
- Warcry use time is modified by Warcry Speed or general Skill Speed. Attack Speed and Cast Speed do not replace those stats merely because a particular Warcry has an Attack or Trigger component.
- Cooldown
- Warcries have individual cooldowns. Warcry Cooldown Recovery Rate makes them recover faster. Warcaller's Bellow on Warbringer ignores Warcry cooldowns, while other effects can add cooldown uses.
- Charge bypass
- Infernal Cry, Seismic Cry, Fortifying Cry, Ferocious Roar, and Arctic Howl can bypass their cooldown by expending an Endurance Charge. This is a property of those skills, not an inherent rule for every Warcry.
- Empowerment expiry
- When a Warcry empowers a specified number of attacks rather than giving a duration-based effect, the unused empowerment expires after 15 seconds. That timer is fixed and is not changed by Duration or Skill Speed.
- Damage scaling
- Increased Damage with Warcries applies to damage dealt by the Warcry or its qualifying triggered component. The later attack uses Empowered Attack modifiers and the exact bonus granted by the Warcry.

7 rules- Standing beside one boss gives a reliable 20 Power, but a scattered pack can contribute less if enemies fall outside the Warcry area.
- Empowered does nothing by itself. Always read the exact benefit and eligible attack type on the Warcry.
- Warcry Damage and Empowered Attack Damage scale different parts of the sequence.
- Duration modifiers do not extend the fixed 15-second expiry for count-based attack empowerment.
- An Endurance Charge bypass is available only when the Warcry states that it can expend one.
- Lunar Blessing spends all Rage for its own duration mechanic and does not have the standard Endurance Charge cooldown bypass property.
- A support must match the Warcry's actual tags and restrictions. Not every Warcry is a damaging skill, Attack, Shapeshift skill, or self-used skill.
