Runeforging

Spend Verisium and specialized ores at the Verisium Anvil to transform eligible equipment, add Runic Ward, upgrade supported items, or forge specific unique items.

How it works

Runeforging is performed at the Verisium Anvil. The selected item and material determine the result: armour can become a Runeforged base with Runic Ward, supported weapons and unique items can receive their documented upgrade, and Starlit Ore can forge a specific unique item. The original item's other properties are retained unless the selected recipe states otherwise, and corrupted items cannot be Runeforged.

How to unlock Runeforging

The Runeseeker questline opens the interface and expands which recipes the anvil can perform.

Runeshape Tome

Complete the first Verisium Remnant encounter to unlock the Runeshape Tome interface. It can be opened with B by default and records the Runeshape combinations available to the character.

Verisium Anvil

Complete the Act 1 Runeseeker sequence in the Lost Catacombs to add the Verisium Anvil to towns and the hideout.

Unique item Runeforging

Continue The Runeseeker in Act 3 and find Mystic Refuge to unlock supported unique weapon and armour transformations.

What the Verisium Anvil changes

Check the item category and exact material before committing the craft.

Armour bases

Ordinary armour can become a Runeforged base that grants Runic Ward. Lower-level bases normally retain their original base defences, while higher-level bases can exchange some defence for more Ward.

Weapons and unique items

Only supported weapons and unique items have Runeforging outcomes. Their result depends on the item and the required Verisium, Crest, or other documented material.

Corrupted items

A corrupted item cannot be Runeforged. Check corruption status before obtaining the required material.

Runeforging uses several connected material families rather than one universal recipe.

Verisium

The primary material for transforming eligible equipment at the anvil.

Exceptional Verisium and Crests

Higher-level transformations and supported unique items can require Exceptional Verisium and a specific Crest.

Starlit Ore

Each Starlit Ore identity forges its linked unique item. The ore page and resulting unique page record the same acquisition relationship.

RewardThe Runeseeker

Complete Farrow's first Verisium Remnant, activate the Runestones in The Grim Tangle, Hunting Grounds, and Ogham Farmlands, return to the Tree of Souls, clear Lost Catacombs, then use the Verisium Anvil on a piece of armour.
