What Withered does
Current rulesAt the default magnitude, 10 Withered stacks total 50% increased Chaos damage taken. This is an increased damage taken modifier, not 50% more damage, and it applies to both Chaos Hits and Chaos damage over time. Each stack has its own duration, so maintaining maximum stacks requires applying Withered often enough or using a source that changes its duration.
- Each stack gives 5% increased Chaos damage taken
- One default Withered stack applies 5% increased Chaos damage taken to the affected target.
- The maximum is 10 stacks
- At the normal 5% magnitude, 10 stacks total 50% increased Chaos damage taken.
- Each stack has an independent duration
- Applying another stack does not refresh every older stack. Stacks fall off as their own durations expire.
- Withered Magnitude changes each stack
- Modifiers to Withered Magnitude scale the increased Chaos damage taken applied by each stack. They do not increase the maximum number of stacks.
- It applies to all Chaos damage taken
- The effect is not restricted to Attacks, Spells, Hits, or damage over time. It modifies Chaos damage taken by the target.
- It is separate from Chaos Resistance
- Chaos Resistance mitigates Chaos damage earlier in the receiving-damage calculation. Withered then contributes to the increased and reduced Chaos damage taken step.
