How to Start Mapping and Sustain Waystones

Speak to Doryani after reaching endgame and take the Waystone used for the first Atlas map. Doryani remains the fallback vendor when the character's Waystone pool runs out. His stock refreshes when the character gains a level.

• The Map Device is available in the endgame hub or Hideout.
• At least one accessible map is visible on the Atlas.
• The Waystone is in the character inventory.

An unidentified Waystone cannot be activated in the Map Device. Identify it, then read every modifier before opening the map. The tier sets the base area level. Modifiers increase danger and rewards, and adding more modifiers reduces the available revives.

• The Waystone is identified.
• The tier and resulting area level are suitable for the character.
• None of the monster or player penalties disable the build's main defence or damage plan.

Uncorrupted Waystones can use ordinary item currency. A Magic or Rare Waystone can improve rewards and Waystone sustain, but every extra modifier also adds risk and can reduce revives. Stop adding modifiers when the map would become unreliable for the current build.

• The map remains completable after every added modifier.
• The expected reward is worth the reduced number of revives.
• A Corrupted Waystone is treated as final because ordinary crafting cannot modify it.

Select an accessible map connected to current Atlas progression and insert the identified Waystone. If Tablets are being used, place them in the available slots beside the Waystone before opening the map. Current Tablets apply directly through the Map Device. They are not socketed into completed towers.

• The selected map is accessible from current Atlas progression.
• The Waystone tier and every Tablet effect have been checked together.
• The Waystone and Tablets are in the Map Device before activation.

Finish the map objective and kill the final map boss before the remaining revives are exhausted. Bosses are a central Waystone sustain source and complete the map for Atlas progression. If optional encounters remain, finish them before starting a boss whose failure can remove the map's other content.

• The map objective is complete.
• The final map boss is defeated.
• Dropped Waystones are collected before leaving the map.

Keep usable Waystone drops, take Atlas passives that improve Waystone quantity from map bosses, and buy a restart set from Doryani when necessary. At the Reforging Bench, three Waystones of the same tier produce one Waystone one tier higher. Use the recipe to turn spare low tiers into progression instead of treating them as dead inventory.

• Map boss Waystone quantity passives are considered before unrelated reward nodes.
• Doryani's refreshed stock has been checked when the pool is low.
• Only matching Waystone tiers are submitted to the three-to-one recipe.

Use a Waystone to enter the first Precursor Tower near the Atlas starting area. Kill its map boss, activate the Precursor Beacon, and return to Doryani. This completes the Precursor Towers quest, awards an Irradiated Tablet, and reveals the Precursor Fortress north of the Atlas starting area.

• The tower map boss is defeated.
• The Precursor Beacon is activated.
• Doryani has been visited after the beacon activation.
• The Precursor Fortress is visible on the Atlas.

Enter the Precursor Fortress for the main Atlas Passive Tree progression. Complete Fortress maps, bosses, and Precursor Relays, then follow the separate endgame mechanic questlines for their own Atlas trees. Use the complete point guide instead of older advice about Corrupted Nexuses, Vanquisher's Books, or socketing ordinary Tablets into towers.
