Quick answer

For the main tree, raise the Precursor Fortress, defeat its map bosses, and activate every Precursor Relay. Special Fortress maps grant additional points, and you can defeat the Arbiter of Divinity five times to complete the five remaining sections. For the six mechanic trees, complete maps around each fixed Atlas hub. Abyss, Breach, Delirium, Temple, and Ritual also grant 6 points whenever the area owner defeats their respective pinnacle boss. Expedition points come from defeating each boss in The Grand Expedition questline.

All Atlas trees

Starting point

4 points
  • Access to the Atlas endgame and Waystones suitable for the maps being cleared.
  • The first Precursor Tower completed so the Precursor Fortress has appeared.
  • The fixed mechanic hubs revealed by completing at least one Abyss, Breach, Delirium, Ritual, Ancient Beacon, or Expedition encounter as applicable.
  • A build capable of defeating Fortress map bosses, mechanic quest bosses, and current pinnacle encounters.

Step 1

Complete your first Precursor Tower

The Precursor Fortress rises after you complete your first Tower on the Atlas. Main Atlas Passive Tree progression now comes from maps inside this Fortress, not from ordinary maps elsewhere on the Atlas.

  • The first Precursor Tower has been completed.
  • The Precursor Fortress is visible on the Atlas.
  • Your route leads through the Fortress walls rather than away from them.

Step 2

Clear maps inside the Fortress

Defeat the map boss in each Fortress map. A Precursor Relay appears after the boss dies. Interact with that Relay to receive the Atlas passive point. Special maps inside the Fortress award additional points when completed.

  • The map is inside the Precursor Fortress.
  • The map boss has been defeated.
  • The Precursor Relay has been activated before leaving the map.
  • Special Towers, Gateways, Enigma Chambers, and Halls have also been completed.

Step 3

Open the route to the Origin Tower

Progress through the Fortress until you can obtain the Origin Spark and Origin Cradle. Combine them in the Precursor forge to create the Origin Core, then bring the Core to the top of the Origin Tower to fight the Arbiter of Divinity.

  • The Origin Spark and Origin Cradle have both been obtained.
  • The two items have been combined into the Origin Core.
  • The Origin Core has been brought to the top of the Origin Tower.
4
Step 4

Use Arbiter victories to complete sections

After defeating the Arbiter of Divinity, activate one Fortress Tower. This completes every map in that Tower's connected section and grants the Atlas passive points from those maps. Repeat the Arbiter encounter and choose a different section each time. Five Arbiter victories are enough to activate every section.

  • A different incomplete Fortress section is selected after each victory.
  • The points from the completed section appear before starting the next run.
  • All five sections are activated if you are using the boss route for full completion.
5
Step 5

Allocate the complete main tree

Once every Fortress map is complete, you have enough points to allocate the full main Atlas tree. The tree cannot be unallocated or respecced. Multi-choice nodes are the exception: their selected option can be changed freely.

  • Every incomplete Fortress map and section has been checked.
  • All available main Atlas points have been allocated along connected paths.
  • Multi-choice node options match the content you currently want to run.
6
Step 6

Complete the Abyss tree

Complete the Abyss maps that radiate from the Well of Souls and close the northern, southern, and eastern wounds. The quest route awards Kulemak's Invitation. Defeat the Vessel of Kulemak in the Black Cathedral to finish the pinnacle route. When you are the area owner, each Abyss pinnacle victory grants 6 Abyss points.

  • The Well of Souls has been revealed after an Abyss encounter.
  • The three wound routes around the hub have been completed.
  • Kulemak's Invitation has opened the Black Cathedral.
  • The Vessel of Kulemak was defeated while you were the area owner.
7
Step 7

Complete the Breach tree

Complete maps near the Monastery of the Keepers and follow its Breach questline through the Hiveborn encounters. Use the Breachlord Sac at the Monastery to enter the Twisted Domain and defeat Xesht, We That Are One. When you are the area owner, each Breach pinnacle victory grants 6 Breach points.

  • The Monastery of the Keepers has been revealed after a Breach encounter.
  • The maps and required encounters around the Breach hub have been completed.
  • A Breachlord Sac has opened the Twisted Domain.
  • Xesht was defeated while you were the area owner.
8
Step 8

Complete the Delirium tree

Complete maps near the Withered Willow, activate a Grand Mirror, and raise the connected fog bank to 100% Deliriousness so a Simulacrum becomes available. Complete its seven waves to obtain Raven's Reflection, then use the key at the Withered Willow and defeat the Raven Trickster. When you are the area owner, each Delirium pinnacle victory grants 6 Delirium points.

  • The Withered Willow has been revealed after a Delirium encounter.
  • A Grand Mirror has spread fog across connected maps.
  • The fog bank reached 100% Deliriousness and the Simulacrum was completed.
  • The Raven Trickster was defeated while you were the area owner.

Step 9

Complete the Expedition tree

Use Expedition Logbooks to reveal islands and complete The Grand Expedition questline. Defeat Medved, Vorana, Uhtred, and Olroth in sequence, then use the reforged Triskelion to reach the Fallen Star and defeat the Aberration. Current Expedition points are awarded by defeating each boss in this questline.

  • The Ruins of Kingsmarch Expedition route has been started.
  • Medved, Vorana, Uhtred, and Olroth have each been defeated.
  • The Triskelion Reforged has opened the Fallen Star encounter.
  • The Aberration has been defeated and every awarded Expedition point has been allocated.

Step 10

Complete the Temple tree

  • The Vaal Ruins hub has been revealed after an Ancient Beacon encounter.
  • Maps around the Vaal Ruins have been completed for their Temple points.
  • The Royal Access Chamber and Atziri's Chamber are connected in the Temple.
  • Atziri, the Red Queen was defeated while you were the area owner.

Step 11

Complete the Ritual tree

Finish the five-map Rite, attach the five recovered effigy pieces at Caer Tarth, and defeat the Bodach. When you are the area owner, each Ritual pinnacle victory grants 6 Ritual points.

  • Caer Tarth has been revealed after a Ritual encounter.
  • An Audience with the King has opened the King in the Mists encounter.
  • All five maps in the Rite of the Nameless have been completed.
  • The Bodach was defeated while you were the area owner.

Important limits

Do not leave a Precursor Relay unused

The point from a normal Fortress map is collected from the Relay that appears after its boss. Defeating the boss is not the final interaction.

Mechanic points are separate

Abyss, Breach, Delirium, Expedition, Temple, and Ritual points can only be spent in their matching trees. Main Fortress points cannot fill those trees.

The area owner receives pinnacle points

The 6-point reward from the Abyss, Breach, Delirium, Temple, or Ritual pinnacle boss is awarded to the area owner. Joining another player's encounter does not satisfy that ownership condition.

Old core Atlas point methods are obsolete

Advice about Unique Maps, Corrupted Nexuses, Vanquisher's Books, or a separate ten-point Map Boss tree describes earlier versions. Version 0.5.0 replaced core Atlas point acquisition with Precursor Fortress progression.
