Identify it, read every modifier
Use a Scroll of Wisdom if the Waystone is unidentified. Check every monster, player, reward, and retry modifier before committing because the Waystone applies them to the opened map.
Atlas map access and crafting

If you run out, buy a restart set from Doryani. To use a Waystone, identify it, read every modifier, place it in the Map Device, and choose the Atlas map to open.
From an unidentified Waystone to an open Atlas map.
Use a Scroll of Wisdom if the Waystone is unidentified. Check every monster, player, reward, and retry modifier before committing because the Waystone applies them to the opened map.
Open the Map Device and choose a map connected to your current Atlas progression. The Waystone tier sets the map's base area level.
Place the identified Waystone into the selected map's portal slot in the Map Device. A Waystone is a single-use item, so activating the map consumes it.
Activate the Map Device, then enter one of the created portals. Complete the map objective and final encounter before using the remaining attempts.

CraftableNo deterministic recipe. Corrupt Tier 15.
CorruptedNatural drops can also provide Waystones. The upgrade column shows the deterministic Reforging route, not every acquisition source.
Current drop, vendor, Reforging, and Tier 16 routes.
Waystones found in maps do not drop below the tier of the map. A final map boss Waystone drop is one tier higher than the map being run.
He stocks up to 10 Waystones at Tier 1 or one tier below the highest tier completed, capped at Tier 14.
Receive one Waystone one tier higher. The deterministic recipe works through Tier 15 and accepts any rarity.
One possible corruption outcome is a Tier 16 Waystone. Tier 16 is already Corrupted and cannot be corrupted again.
A practical order for keeping enough Waystones while progressing through Atlas tiers.
Every current regular Waystone modifier includes a positive Waystone drop bonus. The imported pool ranges from 10% to 25%, but extra modifiers also reduce available revivals. A completed map is more useful than a heavily modified map whose boss you cannot kill.
Waystones cannot drop below the tier of the map being run. If the final map boss drops a Waystone, it is one tier higher than that map.
Pathkeepers grants 15% increased Quantity of Waystones dropped by Map Bosses. Atop the World, Valuable Paths, and Archaeological Interest each grant another 10%.
Three Waystones of the same tier produce one Waystone one tier higher. Any rarity works, and the deterministic recipe can produce tiers up to Tier 15.
Doryani can stock up to 10 Waystones. His stock refreshes when the character gains a level and reaches one tier below the highest tier completed, capped at Tier 14.
Do not add a dangerous modifier only for its drop bonus if it makes the boss unreliable. More modifiers also reduce the number of revivals available for the map.
The facts that affect map access, difficulty, rewards, retries, and party allocation.
Tier 1 opens an area level 65 map. Each additional tier adds one area level, so Tier 16 opens area level 80.
A Waystone must be identified before it can be activated in the Map Device.
Activating a Waystone consumes it and creates the portals for that map instance.
Current Waystone modifiers pair a downside with an upside and additional Waystone drop chance. Reward bonuses can include Monster Effectiveness, pack size, item rarity, monster rarity, or Waystone drop chance.
Characters begin the endgame with up to six attempts per map. Adding more modifiers to the Waystone reduces the number of available respawns.
Party size does not increase Waystone drop chance, and a dropped Waystone is allocated to the map creator.
Browse every current Prefix and Suffix by the Waystone tiers that can roll it.
The current modifier data defines the eligible rows but does not publish usable spawn weights. Exact roll chances cannot be calculated without a known denominator.

This disabled legacy row has no player-facing effect.
Current currency and corruption rules, plus removed Desecration and Instilling interactions.
Use ordinary item currency to change rarity and modifiers. Read every downside before opening the map because the Waystone applies its modifiers to the area.
Preserved Vertebrae no longer drops, so a current-league Waystone cannot newly gain a Desecrated modifier through this removed currency. Existing legacy Waystones and the 19 recorded source rows remain documented separately.
Corruption can change the Waystone, including upgrading Tier 15 to Tier 16. Corrupted Waystones cannot be modified by ordinary crafting currency.
Waystones can no longer be Instilled with Liquid Emotions. That interaction was removed in version 0.4.0.
Current notable and keystone effects linked to their exact tree nodes.
Map selection, modifiers, crafting, vendors, and party behavior.
Updates that define the current tier, modifier, sustain, and crafting rules.
Added or improved Waystone quantity bonuses on Atop the World, Pathkeepers, Archaeological Interest, and Valuable Paths.
Official notesRequired Waystones to be identified before Map Device use and updated modifier reward bonuses and artwork.
Official notesStopped Preserved Vertebrae from dropping, making Waystone Desecration legacy, and removed Liquid Emotion Instilling from Waystones.
Official notesReworked Waystone modifiers around a downside, a reward upside, and added Waystone drop chance. Corrupted Waystones were limited to eight modifiers.
Official notesRedesigned Waystone sustain, map boss drops, Doryani stock, and map respawn attempts.
