Quick answer

Equip compatible weapons in Set 1 and Set 2, then open each Skill's details and choose the set or sets that may use it. A Skill assigned only to the inactive compatible set swaps automatically when used. Weapon Set Passive Skill Points let one regular passive point have different allocations in Set 1 and Set 2; they are not free extra passive points. Keystone passives and jewel sockets cannot use separate weapon-set allocations.

Before you start

3 points
  • Equip the weapons or off-hand items needed by each Skill.
  • Keep at least one unallocated regular passive point when testing weapon-set allocations.
  • Open the Skills Panel and Passive Skill Tree.

Step 1

Equip Set 1 and Set 2

Use the weapon-set controls in the inventory to equip a main hand and eligible off hand for each set. A Skill can use a set only when the active equipment satisfies that Skill's weapon requirements. Since update 0.3.0, weapon swapping is instant, and an equipped weapon can be assigned to both sets when both setups need the same item.

  • Equip every weapon and off hand required by the intended Skills.
  • Verify Attribute and level requirements in both sets.
  • Assign a shared weapon to both sets only when that is intentional.

Step 2

Assign each Skill to the correct set

Open a Skill's information panel and select Set 1, Set 2, or both. Using a Skill assigned only to the other compatible set swaps to it automatically. A Skill assigned to both uses the active compatible set, while some utility Skills must remain assigned to both. Manual swapping remains available through the configured weapon-swap input.

  • Assign weapon-specific Skills only to compatible sets.
  • Use both sets for Skills that should never force a swap.
  • Test the automatic swap outside a boss encounter.

Step 3

Allocate separate passives without double-counting points

Select Set 1 or Set 2 at the top of the Passive Skill Tree before allocating. One unallocated regular passive point can support one allocation in Set 1 and a different allocation in Set 2. The weapon-set point allowance controls how many normal points may be allocated differently; it does not add free points to the character. Keystone passives and jewel sockets must stay shared.

  • Select the intended weapon set before clicking a passive.
  • Keep enough unallocated regular points for the larger set allocation.
  • Do not try to separate a Keystone or jewel socket.
4
Step 4

Check Spirit, requirements, and active effects after swapping

The active set immediately recalculates equipment and character modifiers. Maximum Spirit and reservations can also change, which can disable a Persistent Skill that no longer fits. A Skill instance uses the modifiers present when it was created, but continuing character buffs and equipment stats follow the active set. Test the actual setup instead of comparing only the passive tree.

  • Compare maximum and available Spirit in both sets.
  • Verify that each set still satisfies its equipment requirements.
  • Confirm which Persistent Skills remain enabled after each swap.

Step 5

Test both sets and refund both sides when needed

Use every assigned Skill, swap manually once, and watch the active equipment, resource totals, and Persistent Skills. When reclaiming one regular passive point used differently by both sets, remove the corresponding allocation from Set 1 and Set 2. If only one side is removed, the regular point is still supporting the remaining allocation.

  • Test automatic and manual swapping.
  • Inspect both set allocations before reporting a missing passive point.
  • Remove both set-specific allocations to reclaim one regular point.

Important limits

Weapon Set points are not extra character points

They permit different Set 1 and Set 2 allocations but still consume the same pool of regular passive points.

A Skill still needs compatible equipment

Assigning a Skill to a set does not bypass its weapon, level, or Attribute requirements.

Spirit can differ between sets

A Persistent Skill may disable when the active set loses a Sceptre, Spirit modifier, passive, or sufficient reservation capacity.
