Accuracy
Accuracy Rating determines whether an Attack Hits by being compared with the target's Evasion. Player Attacks also lose Accuracy with distance, while Spells do not use Accuracy.Catalog version 0.5.4d
No direct 0.5 patch change is linked to this page. The displayed values are current for catalog version 0.5.4d.
What Accuracy does
Current rulesFor a normal player Attack, build Accuracy from levels, Dexterity, equipment, passives, and skill effects, apply the distance penalty, then compare the result with the target's Evasion. Accuracy also lowers the target's chance to Deflect. Effects that Always Hit or cannot be Evaded bypass the ordinary Accuracy and Evasion calculation.
- Attacks use Accuracy
- An Attack normally checks the attacker's Accuracy against the target's Evasion to determine whether it Hits. Spells do not use this Accuracy check.
- Levels and Dexterity provide the base
- The official 0.3.0 update set player gain to 6 Accuracy Rating per level. Current extracted game data gives 8 Accuracy Rating per Dexterity, replacing the older published value of 6 per Dexterity.
- Chance to Hit formula
- The community-documented uncapped chance to Hit is Accuracy multiplied by 125, divided by Accuracy plus 0.3 times defender Evasion. Normal chance to Hit cannot be lower than 5% and normally cannot exceed 100%.
- Distance applies a less multiplier
- Player Attacks have no distance penalty within 2 metres. The penalty then increases linearly, reaching 90% less Accuracy at 9 metres or farther. Distance is measured from the origin of the damage to the target.
- Enemies have no inherent range penalty
- Enemy Attacks do not normally lose Accuracy with distance. Specific effects such as Stay Light, Use Cover or Vigilant View can impose the player-style distance penalty on enemies.
- Always Hit bypasses the calculation
- Always Hit and Can't be Evaded set the ordinary chance to Hit to 100% without using attacker Accuracy or defender Evasion. A defender that Cannot Evade produces the same result from the defender side.
- Player Minions always Hit
- Player Minion Attacks always Hit and do not require Accuracy. This rule was introduced in the official 0.3.0 update.
- Accuracy also opposes Deflection
- Deflection is a separate defence after the Attack connects. Higher attacker Accuracy lowers the defender's Deflection chance; the current formula is 150 multiplied by one minus Accuracy divided by Accuracy plus 0.12 times Deflection Rating, capped at 95% chance to Deflect.
- Amazon can use excess chance
- The Amazon's Critical Strike notable allows chance to Hit with Attacks to exceed 100% and grants additional Critical Hit Chance equal to 25% of the excess. Under the documented Accuracy formula, uncapped chance to Hit approaches but does not exceed 125%.

Limits and exceptions
7 rules- Accuracy determines whether an Attack Hits. It does not directly increase the damage of a Hit that already connects.
- Spells do not use Accuracy, even when their effects travel as Projectiles.
- Player Minion Attacks always Hit and do not need Minion Accuracy under the current rule.
- The distance penalty is a less Accuracy multiplier, not Projectile damage falloff.
- Chance to Hit and chance to Deflect are separate checks. A connected Attack can still have part of its damage prevented by Deflection.
- A character-panel estimate depends on the assumed target and distance and may not describe every encounter.
- The current 8 Accuracy per Dexterity value comes from extracted current game data; the older official 0.3.0 notes and stale prose still show 6.
