Cooldown Recovery Rate
Cooldown Recovery Rate changes how quickly Skill cooldowns restore. It divides the effective cooldown rather than subtracting the displayed percentage directly from the cooldown duration.Catalog version 0.5.4d
No direct 0.5 patch change is linked to this page. The displayed values are current for catalog version 0.5.4d.
What Cooldown Recovery Rate does
Current rulesEffective cooldown equals base cooldown divided by 1 plus net increased Cooldown Recovery Rate. A 6 second cooldown takes 4 seconds at 50% increased recovery rate and 3 seconds at 100% increased recovery rate.
- Recovery formula
- Divide the base cooldown by 1 plus the net increased Cooldown Recovery Rate. Increased and reduced recovery rate modifiers combine before the division.
- Worked example
- A 6 second cooldown with 50% increased recovery rate becomes 6 ÷ 1.5 = 4 seconds. With 100% increased recovery rate it becomes 6 ÷ 2 = 3 seconds.
- Diminishing time saved
- Adding the same percentage saves less absolute time at higher totals. On a 6 second cooldown, going from 0% to 50% saves 2 seconds, while 50% to 100% saves 1 more second.
- Cooldown only
- Cooldown Recovery Rate affects only Skill cooldowns. It does not shorten attack time, cast time, Skill Effect Duration, Detonation Time, or another timer with different wording.
- Cooldown start
- A cooldown normally begins when the skill is used, but a skill can explicitly delay the start until its duration ends or another stated condition is met.
- Specific recovery rate
- A modifier for Grenade, Warcry, Command, or another named skill type applies only when the skill has that type or satisfies the stated condition.
- Cooldown uses
- Recovery rate does not itself add another use. Effects that grant additional Cooldown Uses are separate and say so explicitly.
- Skill Speed is separate
- Skill Speed can make the use animation faster, but it does not make the resulting cooldown recover faster. A build may need both stats.
Reading cooldown modifiers
7 casesDivide the base cooldown by 2. The cooldown is halved rather than reduced to zero.
Sands of Silk and Crest of Ardura provide generic increased Cooldown Recovery Rate.
Currency: Sands of Silk, Crest of ArduraRedemption applies reduced Cooldown Recovery Rate. Combine it with applicable increases before calculating the effective cooldown.
Currency: RedemptionRecovery Rate for Grenade Skills applies only to Grenade Skills and does not become a generic bonus for other cooldown skills.

Related: Warcry, Skill SpeedIf the skill says its cooldown starts after an effect expires, faster recovery changes the cooldown portion but not the preceding duration.

6 rules- The percentage is a recovery rate, not a direct percentage reduction to the displayed cooldown.
- Generic and skill specific modifiers apply only when their wording matches the skill.
- Cooldown Recovery Rate does not shorten Skill Effect Duration or Detonation Time.
- Cooldown Uses are separate from recovery rate and require explicit wording.
- A skill may delay when its cooldown starts, so the total wait can include a duration before cooldown recovery begins.
- Skill Speed and Cooldown Recovery Rate solve different timing constraints.
