What Power Charge does
Current rulesPower Charges commonly fuel skills such as Falling Thunder, Charged Staff, Flicker Strike, and empowered Wyvern attacks. They can be generated through skills such as Killing Palm, Power Siphon, Profane Ritual, Siphoning Strike, and Lingering Illusion.
- Shared charge rules
- Power Charges have a default maximum of three and a default duration of 15 seconds. Gaining another Power Charge refreshes their duration.
- No inherent critical bonus
- Holding a Power Charge does not inherently raise Critical Hit Chance or Critical Damage Bonus in Path of Exile 2.
- Generating charges
- Current generators include culling, corpse consumption, consuming Shock, completed Profane Rituals, and Lingering Illusion remnants, depending on the skill used.
- Spending charges
- Power Charge consumers may add projectiles, repeat strikes, empower a buff, create additional minions, or change a skill's effect. The result is defined by that consumer.
- Charge Regulation benefit
- Charge Regulation grants more Critical Hit Chance while at least one Power Charge is present. Its value depends on the skill level and is not an inherent charge stat.
Limits and exceptions
3 rules- A skill that consumes all Power Charges can scale once per charge, but only when its wording states that scaling.
- Minimum and maximum Power Charge modifiers change charge availability, not the inherent effect of each charge.
- Charge conversion can cause a generator to grant a different charge type, so the final charge gained depends on active conversion rules.
