What Reviving Minions does

Current rules

Reviving Minions are persistent Minions that return automatically after death. The first death starts a reforming timer of up to 7.5 seconds. Further Reviving Minion deaths extend the shared timer by diminishing amounts, still capped at 7.5 seconds. A separate revive effect can return a Minion without waiting for that timer, which does not count as reforming.

They recover and revive automatically
A Reviving Minion heals after avoiding damage for a short time. When killed, it automatically returns after the reforming delay instead of being permanently lost.
The timer is shared across deaths
The first Reviving Minion death starts the timer at 7.5 seconds. Additional deaths increase that timer by progressively smaller amounts, with the total still capped at 7.5 seconds.
Reforming is narrower than reviving
Reforming occurs only when a dead Persistent Minion returns at the end of the Minion Reforming Buff timer. Eternal March, Grim Resurrection, a Cleric, or another immediate revive can return a Minion without that event counting as reforming.
Revive speed changes waiting time
Stats such as Minions Revive faster shorten the automatic return timing. They do not make the Minion immortal or prevent the death event.
Companions are Reviving Minions
A Companion is a more complex type of Reviving Minion. The default Companion limit and any Companion-specific rules remain separate from the generic revival behavior.

Ways to change or use Minion revival

Eternal March

03
Sacrifice

Allows undead Reviving Minions to be used as Corpses by your Skills, but makes those Minions revive more slowly.

04
Skeletal Cleric

This Reviving Minion heals other Minions and can revive fallen Skeletons, providing a direct revival source distinct from waiting for reforming.

Limits and exceptions

5 rules
  • Temporary Minions do not become Reviving Minions merely because another effect can summon them again.
  • A direct revive and reforming are different events, so wording that checks one does not automatically check the other.
  • Revive speed changes the delay but does not prevent Minion death.
  • The reforming timer can be extended by later deaths but remains capped at 7.5 seconds under the current 0.2.0e rule.
  • An effect that revives only Skeletons, Companions, or another named Minion type does not apply to every Reviving Minion.
