Endgame encounter

Ritual

Complete Ritual Altars to earn Tribute, then spend it on Favours, reroll the offers, defer an expensive reward, or offer the remainder toward An Audience with the King.
Ritual Tablet
What to doClear the circle, activate the altar, kill the revived monsters, then review the Favours.

Tribute is shared by every Ritual Altar in the current area. It does not carry into another area, so check all altars before choosing what to buy, reroll, defer, or offer to the King.

How to complete Ritual Altars

The normal encounter order in a Map.

5 steps
  1. 1

    Kill monsters inside the circle

The altar records monsters slain within its Ritual circle. Kill most of the nearby pack before trying to activate it.

  2. 2

    Activate the Ritual Altar

Activation closes the encounter area and revives the monsters recorded by that altar.

  3. 3

    Defeat every revived monster

The encounter ends after the revived wave is cleared. Altar hazards and the area's Ritual variation remain part of the fight.

  4. 4

Follow the locusts to the next altar

In Maps, locusts leave a completed altar and point toward the next incomplete Ritual Altar.

  5. 5

    Use the shared Tribute pool

Each completed altar adds Tribute and reveals another reward group. Spend, reroll, defer, or offer the remaining Tribute after checking every altar.

What to do with Tribute

Four different actions in the Favour screen.

Shared area resource
ActionWhen to use itWhat happens

Buy

Take a Favour now

Spend its full Tribute price and move the item to your inventory. Current endgame Favours are Unique items or Omens.

Reroll

Replace the current offers

Spend Tribute to generate another set of Favours. One reroll is available by default, before passives or other effects.

Defer

Reserve an item you cannot yet afford

Pay 10% of its price plus the displayed fee. The item can return in a later Ritual at a lower price and must be deferred again before it expires from the pool.

Offer Tribute

Advance An Audience with the King

Convert unspent Tribute into King progress. This option is unavailable inside a Rite of the Nameless.

Deferred items need continued attention. If a returning item is repeatedly left undeferred, the interface warns before removing it from the deferral pool.

Normal Ritual and Rite of the Nameless

These encounters share Ritual combat but have different progression rules.
